“……We appreciate BCA’s continued efforts and efforts to build the cricket culture in the state of Bihar and we assure you that BCCI will support BCA within the legal framework. Consequently, the BCCI directs it to cancel the T20 domestic league cricket tournament (i.e. BCL) “and therefore the BCA will not cancel the ongoing T20 tournament (i.e. BCL) the competition being deemed a competition. In accordance with BCCI and BCA rules and regulations, ‘unsanctioned competition’ will be punishable under BCCI rules and regulations,” he said.

In recent years, according to the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU), after BCCI faced several questionable ownership cases in T20 state leagues, unusual betting patterns have emerged. “What the Bihar CA officials did was align the young players’ work with their refusal. There are 31 rules that have been violated under Article 31 of the BCCI Constitution. Prohibition of Participation in Unsanctioned Competitions (1) No member shall provide any assistance to any unauthorized competition.
(2) No player, umpire, scorer, official or other person connected with BCCI shall participate in any unauthorized competition. (3) The Apex Council shall take appropriate action, including suspension and termination of financial benefits and any other action against the above named individuals/members.

He said an office holder can serve a continuous 12-year term, which includes six years in state associations and six years in BCCI, before a three-year cooling-off period.
