Oman Cricket – Arjun Dhiman’s impressive performance in Oman in all categories, including a career-best six for 18, helped host Bhutan to a thrashing of 201 runs as Bahrain beat Saudi Arabia with 57 runs on the opening day of cricket. The opening day’s action saw two matches in Group A and the host captain stole the limelight. Having made the right call, Oman’s hopes of a flying start on OCA 1 soil were dashed by the Bhutanese players.

Chasing a difficult target, the Bhutanese batsmen were caught on the wicket of Dhiman, going through the opposition batsmen to finish with figures of 6.5-2-18-6.
Sivakumar, most of all, provided Dhiman with good support as he claimed 3/18 while coach Mohammed Arafat Islam took another wicket as Bhutan were bowled out for 54 for 21.
Apart from Tashi Dorji, who made 31-22 balls, no batsman could score double figures. Five of the batteries failed to open their accounts.

Arjun Dhiman, the Captain of Oman said: “We performed well in the match. It’s a great start to the competition. We still have a long way to go.
“We had to play head to head in the beginning but then Aryan [Bisht] and I switched ships. Our low and mid range gave a good finish. The players behaved well and I threw well. All in all, it was a great success. Hopefully we can continue our winning streak. “

But once the stand was broken, the rest of the players were gone as Saudi Arabia were bowled out for 102 in 30.5 overs.

At this time, the trainers returned to form, which made them lose the kilos they wear. That said, the team is in very good shape. We played a good T20 series against Mumbai, where we beat them 2-1.
