The current format includes a qualifying stage, which takes place over the previous three years, to determine which teams qualify for the tournament stage. In the tournament phase, 10 teams, including the host nation that automatically qualifies, compete in the host country’s venues for a month for the title. In the 2027 edition, the format will be changed to include a comprehensive final competition of 14 teams.
