South African League Cricket – SA 20 is a Twty20 franchise cricket tournament in South Africa, organized by Cricket South Africa (CSA) and contested for the first time in 2023.

In July 2022, Hermes Sports Watch Limited, owners of the Pretoria Mavericks in the now defunct Global T20 League, wrote to the CSA to ask for a “reasonable opportunity” to apply for a franchise in the new tournament, failing which the courts should apply. South Africa’s Mzansi Super League (MSL), the country’s flagship T20 tournament in 2018 and 2019, will not be held this year. The CSA said in a statement on Monday that “due to various national and international logistical reasons due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic” the tournament has been forced to be postponed by a year – it will now be played in November-December 2021.
