Foundation stone was laid in the presence of BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla, Treasurer Arun Dhumal, Joint Secretary Jayesh George and NCA CEO VVS Laxman.

Since its inception in 2000, the current NCA has been operating from the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium premises in the heart of the city.
The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), which owns the stadium, has leased Ground B to the BCCI for outdoor training. In addition to the indoor training facility and a separate space for a modern gym.
The new facility is expected to be ready within a year. There will be three stadiums that can host domestic competitions.
