Ipl 2023: Chris Jordan Replaces Injured Jofra Archer At Mumbai Indians
Jofra Archer was not in Mumbai Indians XI, nor was he in the impact player list for the match against CSK.
Mumbai Indians are back in their third match of the Indian Premier League 2023 as they take on their fierce rivals Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium. While CSK captain MS Dhoni decided to overdo it after winning in Mumbai, Rohit Sharma – the Mumbai Indians captain – dropped an unpleasant update on MI fans during the raid. Rohit announced that the leading fast bowler, Jofra Archer is unavailable due to the marquee clash. Interestingly, Rohit also confirmed that there is no injury to the England all-rounder, and he is resting only as a “precautionary measure”.
Archer missed the entire 2022 IPL season with an injury and returned to international cricket earlier this year. Archer featured in MI’s opening match of the season against Royal Challengers Bangalore but failed to make a significant impact; he was bowled out for 33 in four minutes as the side suffered an eight-wicket haul against Faf du Plessis’ men.

Notably, Chennai Super Kings also had two misses in the match against MI. The two England stars – Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali – were forced to miss the clash. Stokes was on top when the teams first match against Lucknow Super Giants; however, it is not known if it is the cause of the injury. Moeen, meanwhile, is nowhere to be found.
Both sides are aiming for a strong exit in the current season after CSK (9) and MI (10) had memorable seasons. The Super Kings opened their account in the current season earlier this week with a 12-run victory over the Super Giants; MI, meanwhile, is still chasing its first win in 2023.
