Sai Sudarshan was the center of attraction by scoring 96 runs in 47 balls. But when CSK came out to bat, rain interrupted play. After a delay of over two hours, the match resumed at 12:10 on 30 May. The target was reduced to 171 under the DLS method when the match was delayed by over two hours due to rain. Chennai Super Kings have been determined to win since their inception. Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad registered a total of 52/0 in the powerplay (4 overs). Noor Ahmed dismissed both Conway and Gaikwad while Mohit Sharma later sent back Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni off two consecutive balls. The match was about to slip away from CSK’s grasp when Shivam Dubey and Ravindra Jadeja made a brilliant comeback.
