Mumbai Indians will retain more as we review the retained squad players list with best predictions for all 10 squads for IPL 2023.

Indian Premier League 2023 may be almost 5 months away but its buzz never fades. The official date for the 2023 IPL auction was recently announced. It will be held on December 23rd in Kochi. With one month to go before the auction, all 10 teams are currently planning to keep their players before the November 15 deadline set by the BCCI.

Unlike the IPL Auction 2022, the IPL Auction 2023 will not be a major deal. Last year, teams were allowed to retain a maximum of 4 players last year but in the 2023 IPL auction there will be no such restriction. Furthermore, compared to last year, the teams will receive another 5 million euros to spend; so a total of INR 95 crore.

As the player signing deadline approaches, we take a look at all the players on the squad and the budget for all 10 squads. Let’s find out which players teams will release and keep before the deadline. Here is the best squad retained players list for all 10 squads ahead of the IPL Auction 2023.

Ipl 2023 Retention: Gujarat Titans (gt) Retained And Released Players List

The Chennai Super Kings will mostly retain their core. MS Dhoni will continue to remain captain with Ravindra Jadeja as his deputy. However, they could drop Ambati Rayudu, Chris Jordan, Robin Uthappa and Subranshu Senapati. Overall, CSK is expected to keep a total of 7 foreign players and would have around ₹22 crore to buy 4 more players.

Bowlers: Deepak Chahar, KM Asif, Mukesh Chaudhary, Maheesha Theekshana, Matheesha Pathirana, Prashant Solanki, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Simarjeet Singh & Tushar Deshpande

Delhi Capitals are expected to retain a total of 20 players including 7 foreign players. The team will let go of Lungi Ngidi, Mandeep Singh, Pravin Dubey and expensive Shardul Thakur. The team has almost all bases covered but would still be looking to spend ₹17.95 crore on a foreign player and some good Indian drinkers.

Gujarat Titans, champions of the IPL 2022, will mainly be looking to have a similar team playing for them in 2022; except for some redundant players. The team will not keep the likes of Vijay Shankar, Pradeep Sangwan, Varun Aaron, Gurkeerat Singh, Dominic Drakes and Noor Ahmad. Instead, the team will look to invest in fresh Indian blood.

For Kolkata Knight Riders, IPL 2022 was not a good deal as they finished seventh in the points standings. They are expected to retain only three foreign and 11 Indian players. The team will leave out expensive Shivam Mavi, who was poor last year. With around ₹6 crore left, they will look to revamp their team by making some good acquisitions.

Similar to Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants will keep their core and leave out some not so good players. LSG will leave out expensive players Avesh Khan and Jason Holder and look to buy them back at auction for less. In total, LSG will keep 15 players including six foreign players and they will be left with INR 29.25 Crore in the auction.

Even though the Mumbai Indians finished last season, they will keep their cap on players, 22. The only players they are expected to leave out include Tymal Mills, Kieron Pollard, Riley Meredith and Fabien Allen. With room left for 3 more foreign players, the Mumbai Indians will have around INR 14.6 crore in their kitty.

Punjab Kings had a good 2022 IPL auction but finished sixth in the points standings. The team will keep its core, but will let go of some expensive players. The squad is expected to keep a total of 17 players, including 5 foreign players.

Shikhar Dhawan has been announced as the captain of Punjab Kings for IPL 2023. It is understood that Punjab is expected to release expensive Mayank Agarwal. Also, they will leave out expensive players, Shahrukh Khan and Odean Smith. Overall, Punjab Kings will receive INR 38.95 million to buy 8 more players.

Ipl Retention 2023

For the Rajasthan Royals, expect minimal changes in the squad. They are expected to keep a total of 18 players, including 6 foreign players. They will largely leave behind not so good players like Anunay Singh, Karun Nair and Rassie van-der Dussen which will leave them with two more places overseas. With ₹10.95 crore in the kitty, Rajasthan Royals can focus on getting a good Indian player up for auction.

Players Chennai Super Kings (csk) Will Retain Ahead Of Ipl 2023

Bowlers: KC Cariappa, Kuldeep Sen, Kuldip Yadav, Navdeep Saini, Obed McCoy, Prasidh Krishna, Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal

Royal Challengers Bangalore will be a team that will mostly keep all its players and may or may not let go of the 2 players, Karn Sharma & Sherfane Rutherford. They will only have INR 8 crore in their kitty and can use it to get another solid foreign player or Indian player.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will mainly keep 18 players incl. Their strategy would be to get rid of overseas players like Romario Shephard and Sean Abbott and instead look for new names to auction. With this move, SRH will have around INR 16 crore in its kitty and a cap space for 7 players.

So, this is the best squad retained players list for all 10 squads for IPL 2023. Considering it will be a mini-auction, squads will be more cautious about releasing their players.
