A few days after announcing the official schedule of the first edition of the BCCI Women’s Premier League, the BCCI on Friday announced the official schedule of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League, IPL 2023. Currently BCCI has released only the schedule of group stage matches. The IPL 2023 group stage matches will start on 31 March 2023 and end on 21 May 2023. As we have seen in previous years, Qualifier 1 can be expected on May 23rd and Elimination on May 24th. Qualifier 2 will be held on May 26 and the Grand Final on May 28.
The entire schedule of the tournament has been fixed so that 70 group stage matches will be played in 52 days. Meanwhile, the playoffs will take a total of 7 days including rest days to complete. According to the group divisions, the respective teams in each group play each other twice; So total 8 intra group matches per team. Also, MI & CSK, KKR & SRH, RR & RCB, DC & PBKS & LSG & GT will play each other twice. Rest, the members of Group A must play against the remaining four teams of Group B, and vice versa.
IPL 2023 will see the return of home and away matches unlike the last three years, which had a different format. In home and away format, each team will play 7 home games and 7 away games at designated venues. Chennai will then play 7 matches at their home ground, Chepauk, Chennai.

In terms of venues, 12 venues are set for IPL 2023. Hence, Guwahati and Dharamsala were added as two venues in addition to the 10 venues for their respective teams. Jaipur and Mohali have 5 matches to play. The remaining two matches are in Guwahati and Dharamsala respectively.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule for the 16th T20 Championship on Friday (February 17). The tournament will begin on March 31, 2023 with a match between defending champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings. Meanwhile, the clash at the top will take place on May 28.

The opening encounter will be followed by Punjab Kings taking on Kolkata Knight Riders in the first match after a doubleheader on April 1, followed by a clash between Lucknow Supergiants and Delhi Capitals. Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Rajasthan Royals in their first match of the season on April 2 and Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on Mumbai Indians in their season opener on the same day.
