The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule for the 16th edition of the T20 league on Friday (February 17). The tournament is set to begin on March 31, 2023 with a match between defending champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings. Meanwhile, the leaderboard will be held on May 28.

The opening match will be followed by a clash between Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals in the first match of the day on April 1 with Punjab Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders. Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Rajasthan Royals in their first match of the season on April 2 and on the same day, Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Mumbai Indians in their first match of the season.
“The 16th season will begin on March 31, 2023 with a blockbuster clash between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad – the world’s largest cricket stadium,” BCCI said in a statement.
It is also known that a total of 70 league games will be played in the 16th season of IPL. There will be a total of twelve spots during the tournament. Mohali, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Dharamshala, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Jaipur and Guwahati will be the host cities of IPL 2023. Seven home games.

IPL 2023 Schedule: Champions Gujarat Titans will host Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in the opening schedule of IPL 2023.
