Indian Women Cricket Team Coach – Former India player Rishikesh Kanitkar has been appointed as the batting coach of the Indian women’s team ahead of the T20 against Australia this month.
The BCCI has announced Kanitkar as the new batting coach of the women’s team and former head coach Ramesh Powar has moved to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) as the spin bowling coach.

Kanitkar, who was a prominent feature in India’s ODI team in the late 1990s, coached home teams Goa and Tamil Nadu. Most recently, Kanitkar coached India’s U19 team, which won the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup this year and was part of the coaching staff under VVS Laxman on India Men’s tour of New Zealand last month.
On the other hand, Powar transformed men’s cricket as part of BCCI’s restructuring model.

Powar will work with Laxman, who is currently the head of cricket at the NCA, after Rahul Dravid became the head coach of the Indian men’s team.

India will take on Australia in a five-match T20I series starting from December 9, with the matches to be played at two venues in Mumbai.
