The full squad of players to compete in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 has been confirmed after the deadline for final squad changes.

NEW DELHI, Jul 27 () — The governing International Cricket Council (ICC) played down threats to the 50-over format of the game on Wednesday, saying a “healthy” number of one-day internationals will be played in the 2023-27 cycle.

ICC chief Geoff Allardice said the structuring of the game’s three formats was discussed at the governing body’s annual general meeting in Birmingham, where the 2023-27 Future Touring Program (FTP) was finalised.
“I think there is quite a bit of discussion at this stage, not specifically about ODIs but about the mix of formats in the calendar,” Allardice said on a video conference.
“So in FTP, I don’t think you will see any significant change in the number of ODIs or the proportion of ODIs scheduled.”
Australian Test batsman Usman Khawaja has said that one-day cricket was “dying a slow death”, while former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram called the format a “drag”.

Allardice acknowledged that some members had “paid particular attention to their domestic leagues”, but insisted their commitment to international and bilateral cricket was “as strong as it has ever been”.

“Each of these boards is in a slightly different situation. So there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to that balance issue.”
