Ecb Cricket – The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is the national governing body of England and Wales cricket.
It was established on 1 January 1997 as a single governing body combining the roles previously held by the Test and State Cricket Board, the National Cricket Association and the Cricket Board.

The ECB Board consists of the Chairman, a Sior Indepdt Non-Executive Director, three Indepdt Non-Executive Directors, five Cricket Non-Executive Directors, the CEO and the Chief Financial Officer.
One of the key responsibilities of the ECB is to train and develop teams that control the ball at the highest level in Test and ODI matches. The national coach, head coach and other coaches are ECB employees. The ECB also employs a brilliant Test match captain and other contract players, and is also responsible for the National Cricket Performance Ctre, currently based at Loughborough University in Leicestershire.

National Districts: Formerly known as minor districts, these are the 21 grounds where cricket is played across the country, but without first class status.
The championship of small countries was held for the first time in 1895. From 2020 onwards, the Western and Eastern divisions of the countries are divided into two groups of five groups, between which are relegated and promoted. Each country also has a regional partnership agreement with the ECB.

Cricket in Wales: Historically, there have been arguments that Wales should break away from the ECB and have their own international team like Ireland and Scotland. However, Cricket Wales and Glamorgan have consistently supported the ECB and the notion that Welsh players at international level will continue to protect the glove.
With a few exceptions, each of the continent’s historic countries has an ECB national cricket club or cricket board, as detailed below. First-tier nations are directly represented on the ECB, while national nations maintain a cricket board.
