So, chemically the only difference between pink and red balls is skin and seam color. The balls are then coated with some sort of varnish (in the case of Kookaburra, nitrocellulose lacquer), which should not change the paintball’s behavior much.
“There’s some belief that the pink finish helps shed faster, but it’s really hard to quantify or quantify,” Orchard says.
