After a solid knockout match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Monday, which turned out to be a tough fight with both teams playing well, there were several changes in the table. in points, orange cap and purple cap. .
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) secured a thrilling last-ball five-wicket victory against Punjab Kings (PBKS) thanks to Rinku Singh’s finishing skills in the match at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Monday.
Rinku’s impressive knock-out of 21 runs off 10 balls in the final overs helped KKR chase down a sub-par 180, with contributions from captain Nitish Rana’s half-century and a strong 42 off 23 deliveries from Andrew Russell. Only Nathan Ellis and Rahul Chahar could slow KKR’s run-rate, with Chahar taking two wickets, including that of Nitish Rana, when he was 51 runs.
Earlier, PBKS opted to bat first and posted a score of 179 for seven on a soft surface with Shikhar Dhawan scoring another fifty-plus innings of 57 off 47 balls. KKR’s mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy picked up three wickets and conceded just 26 runs in his quota of four overs. With this win, KKR moved to fifth place in the points table.

After their last-ball win against PBKS, KKR climbed to the fifth spot in the points table with 10 points. This result makes the fight for the play-offs even more interesting as the five teams in the middle of the table are currently on the same number of points (10).
Gujarat Titans (GT) are at the top of the points table with 16 points while Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are at the second position, three points behind GT. The third placed team, Lucknow Super Giants, have one more point (11) than the other teams in the table.
KKR’s Rinku Singh has climbed to the 10th position in the list of most runs by players with 337 runs, while PBKS skipper Shikhar Dhawan holds the ninth position with 349 runs. There are no other changes in the list.
The Orange Cap, awarded to the tournament’s top run-scorer, is currently held by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Faf du Plessis, who has amassed 511 runs in 10 matches. Rajasthan Royals young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is second with 477 runs at a strike rate of 160.60.

After an impressive performance against PBKS on Monday 3/26, KKR’s Varun Chakravarthy climbed to the fifth position in the list of most wickets this season with 17 wickets in 11 matches. On the other hand, Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Mohammed Shami currently holds the Purple Cap after taking 17 wickets this season.
Leg-spinner Rashid Khan and CSK paceman Tushar Deshpande also have 17 wickets each but their economy is higher than Shami’s.
