A total of 70 league matches and 4 play-off matches will be played over a period of 65 days. The 15th season begins on March 26 at the Wankhede Stadium with a big clash between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. On March 27, the league will host its first doubleheader at Brabourne starting with a day’s match between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. The night match between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be held at DY Patil Stadium. Pune’s MCA Stadium will host its first match on March 29 when Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Rajasthan Royals. In total, 20 matches each will be played at Wankhede Stadium and DY Patil Stadium, 15 matches each at Brabourne and MCA International Stadium, Pune. There will be a total of 12 double headers with the first match starting at 3:30 PM IST. All evening matches will start at 7:30PM IST. The final match of the league stage will be played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings on May 22 at the Wankhede Stadium. Playoffs and final of TATA IPL 2022 scheduled for May 29 will be announced later.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday announced the much-awaited schedule for the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022). Although the dates are well known, all speculation about the locations ended when the schedule revealed itself. The BCCI managed to retain the tournament in India after hosting it in the UAE for one and a half seasons.

The league stage of the tournament will be held at four venues in Maharashtra and the schedule for the semi finals is yet to be announced. The 15th edition starts on March 26 with a clash between CSK and KKR. With the addition of two new teams, the number of league games has increased from 56 to 70. As the number of games increases, double headers are becoming more common.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule for the 16th Twenty20 League on Friday (February 17). The tournament will begin on March 31, 2023 with a match between the defending champions, Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings. Meanwhile, the summit clash will be held on May 28.

The opening match will be followed by a double-header on April 1 the next day, with the first match between Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders followed by a clash between Lucknow Supergiants and Delhi Capitals. Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Rajasthan Royals in their first match on April 2, while Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Mumbai Indians in their first match of the season on the same day.

“The 16th season of the marquee event begins on March 31, 2023, when Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings clash at the world’s largest cricket ground, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad,” the BCCI said in a statement.
