After his sensational performance, his Mumbai teammate and then CSK pacemaker Shardul Thakur immediately recommended his name to CSK management as a net bowler for the second half of the IPL 2021 which started in the United Arab Emirates.
Prashant Solanki revealed how he played for CSK in an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda. He said:
“That year, Shardul Bhai played for CSK. He came for a few matches with Vijay Hazare. He saw me play and recommended my name to the CSK management. After about a month, the second stage of the IPL will start in Dubai (UAE). That’s why CSK’s video analyst contacted me. He asked me if I wanted to be a net thrower and I immediately said yes.
CSK then groomed this net thrower as they have done with other youngsters to prepare them for the big stage. Moreover, it should be very special for the 22-year-old as CSK won the trophy in 2021.

“We are not allowed to go to the locker room because we are net throwers. But we went to see the games in Dubai. The atmosphere is the same this year, the players are very cool. We are a months earlier than other teams. We have plenty of open nets and match simulations so players are ready to cash in.
Solanki signed after mentioning that although CSK had a bad season this year, the team is good but only a few key players are injured. Moreover, he thinks the team is also less positive due to the different bowling attack. CSK has its own ‘Baby Malinga’ Matheesha Pathirana and Mukesh Chaudhary. Moreover, if Deepak Chahar gets back into shape, then CSK will be a great player next year.

“I’m just praying someone will take me. But getting CSK is a dream come true,” Solanki said when asked about getting such a big sum.
