Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) beat Punjab Kings (PBKS) by five wickets thanks to Rinku Singh’s finishing skills in today’s session at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Earlier, PBKS opted to bat first and Shikhar Dhawan scored 179 runs on a slow surface of seven overs with a half-century of 57 off 47 balls. KKR’s Varun Chakraborty took three wickets and conceded just 26 runs in four overs. With this win, KKR has secured the fifth position in the points table.
After the last-ball win against PBKS, KKR moved up to the fifth spot in the points table with 10 points. The result made for an interesting race for the playoffs, with the five mid-table teams sharing a large number of points (10).
At the top of the points table, Gujarat Titans (GT) are the group leaders with 16 points, while Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are three points behind GT at the second position. The third ranked tea, Lucknow Super Giants, leads the table by one point (11) over the other teas.

Rinku Singh’s KKR has moved up to 10th in the list of Oost run-scorers with 337 runs, while PBKS skipper Shikhar Dhawan is ninth with 349 runs. No other changes have been made to the list.
The Orange Cap, awarded to the tournament’s highest run-scorer, is currently held by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Faf du Plessis, who has scored 511 runs in 10 matches. In the second place is the young player of Rajasthan Royals, Yashshvi Jaiswal, who has scored 477 runs with a strike rate of 160.60.
After a brilliant 26/3 against PBKS today, Varun Chakraborty took 17 wickets in 11 overs to take KKR to fifth spot on the eight-wicket haul this season. Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans (GT) fast bowler Ohed Shai currently holds the Purple Cap as he has taken 17 wickets this season.
Leg-spinner Rashid Khan and CSK pacer Tushar Deshpande also have 17 wickets, but their economy rates are higher than Shire’s.
