Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan and Irish batsman Paul Stirling have made significant strides in the ODI bowler and batsman rankings respectively after the latest round of bilateral engagements. Shakib Al Hasan, who returned to international cricket after a one-year ban in Bangladesh’s series against the West Indies, also climbed two places to 13th among bowlers. Mehidy, who top-scored against the Indies with seven strikes – including a career-best 4 of 25 in the second ODI – has moved up nine places to No.4, and Stirling has had three centuries in the last five ODIs. In Abu Dhabi, the UAE and Afghanistan helped him climb eight places to No. 20 among batsmen. He continued his unbeaten runs against UAE with 131, 128 and 118 against Afghanistan, although all three knocks were losses.
Shakib, on the other hand, was just behind Mehidy with six wickets against West Indies, four of which were in the first ODI. In other wins for Bangladesh, left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman – who also took six caps in three matches – has made 11 places among the bowlers, along with batsman Mushfiqur Rahim, captain Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah and Mohammad Saifuddin. has made a slight advance in the charts. Australia have consolidated their top spot in the ICC Men’s Test Team Rankings, while India and New Zealand remain at the top of the T20I and ODI rankings. The ICC annual update reflects all series from May 2019 onwards. Series played before May 2021 are now weighted at 50 percent and 100 percent thereafter.

Australia opened up a nine-point lead over second-placed India in the Test rankings after a 4-0 win over England in the year’s Ashes series and a 1-0 win over Pakistan. They now have 128 points.
India have gained one point to move to 119, while England, who have been relegated thanks to their 4-1 series win over India in 2018, are now on 88 points, their lowest since 1995. England’s home series against India, which began in 2021, will enter the rankings after the fifth and final Test scheduled for July. India finished second behind New Zealand after winning the home series against West Indies and Sri Lanka, with a tight race for third place between New Zealand (111) and South Africa (110). Pakistan (93) is fifth ahead of England.
Meanwhile, in the ODI standings, England have done well to close their gap from leaders New Zealand to just three points (125 points) after defeating Sri Lanka 2-0 and Pakistan 3-0 – both series at home – at the World Cup. Super League, collecting 55 points. This widened the gap between England and third-placed Australia (107) from seven points to 17, after the latter dropped five points. Although Australia had two wins in three matches against the West Indies, they lost two matches on their tour of Pakistan. Pakistan (105) jumped one place to fifth, replacing South Africa and narrowing the gap with India (102) to three points.
In the T20Is, India have extended their lead over second-placed England from one point to five. Pakistan takes the third position. South Africa and Australia have each jumped one place, to fourth and fifth respectively. New Zealand dropped two places to No. 6, while the West Indies fell to seventh. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are ranked eighth and ninth respectively. Afghanistan, which lost two places, takes the tenth place. Overall, the number of qualified teams has dropped to 72 from 91, with each team having to play at least six rated matches since May 2019.
