The IPL 2022 champions, Gujarat Titans are one of the four teams to retain 18 or more players ahead of the IPL 2023 tournament. They have only released some of the unemployed players to fill the gaps in the 2023 Mini Auction.

Titans spending INR 6 Crores on Mavi is another highlight of the sale. KKR spent a million dollars on Mavi in 2022, and GT repeated the same in 2023. It will be interesting to see how Mavi performs in 2023 as his first IPL performance was below average.

November 15th! Save the date as IPL 2023 officially begins with Player bookings for the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League. All ten teams have used a total of 163 players for IPL 2023. This includes 113 Indian players and 50 overseas players.
Delhi Capitals have retained the maximum number of players, 20. They are followed by CSK, Gujarat Titans, and RCB, who have retained 18 each. Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals used 16 players each. While LSG retained 15, KKR retained 14, and SRH retained 12 players.
From the purse price, out of the total INR 950 crores given to the 10 teams, INR 731.5 crores was used to retain 163 players; that is 4.5 crores for each player. While INR 12.3 crores is the additional amount deducted for the irregular salary retained by the 2022 players.

The IPL 2023 auction is expected to take place on December 23 in Kochi. Before that, the team has more than a month to think about the players they want to buy.
