Royal Challengers Bengaluru star batsman Virat Kohli broke former teammate Chris Gale’s longstanding Indian Premier League record on Sunday night by breaking his seventh percentile in the league. Kohli played a key role in RCB Bengaluru’s win against the Gujarat Titans as he hit triple figures off 60 balls; his second consecutive success this season. The 34-year-old batsman also hit 100 in his team’s final game against Hyderabad Sunrise.

Chris Gayle broke his sixth and final centenary in competition at the 2018 championships while still representing the Royal Challengers. It was also Kohli’s eighth century in T20 cricket, putting him in the same league as the Australian trio of David Warner, Aaron Finch and Michael Klinger.
