Both teams had a lot of interesting things. While CSK and MS Dhoni had a history with fortunes, the Gujarat Titans had their own history to chase.
CSK could have matched the Mumbai Indians’ record of five IPL titles by winning on Monday, while GT had a unique chance to win two titles in its two years of existence. It will also be their captain Hardik Pandya’s record sixth IPL title.
