“We’ve had webinars for the players all these months and they’ve been training themselves anyway,” Shah added.
The Uttarakhand Cricket Association organized a month-long training camp for its team in Dehradun from October 14 to November 14.
“There is no need to put this in a hotel because they are all based in the city. Given the situation surrounding the pandemic, we’ll let the player decide if they like wearing the cap.

Cricket and Saurashtra go way back. The Ranji Trophy, established in 1934, is named after K.S. Ranjitsinghji, once the ruler of the princely state of Nawanagar (now Jamnagar) in Saurashtra. Nawanagar and later West Indies were also among the first winners of the premier domestic competition (1936–37 and 1943–44).
It took a side representing the region more than seven and a half decades to win back the trophy (2019-2020). But it can be rest assured that today’s Saurashtra cricket team has bridged the gap with its storied past exactly one step at a time. Starting with Bengal on Thursday, Saurashtra will play their third Ranji Trophy final in four seasons and fifth in the last decade.

Exciting scenes unfolded after Saurashtra defeated Maharashtra in the final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy this week. Captain Jaydev Unadkat dropped to his knees and soaked in the moment before heading to the presentation ceremony, where he applauded his opponents and then his teammates for putting up a brave display with both bat and ball.
As the trophy was handed to the lanky Summer, he motioned to the stands and asked his teammates’ family members to join in the celebrations. It’s a rare sight in domestic circles. After Unadkat’s insistence, the association agreed to the arrangement and most of the family members have been with the team since the quarter-stage of India’s premier List A tournament.
“Jaydev initiated this and the association supported it. All the players have now started taking their families.
