Team India captain Rohit Sharma has shared a special message on social media on the occasion of completing 15 years in international cricket. Describing her journey as one to remember for a lifetime, she thanked everyone from fans to critics.

Rohit made his international debut on 23 June 2007 in an ODI against Ireland in Belfast. Chasing the target of 171 runs, Sourav Ganguly (73 *) and Gautam Gambhir (80 *) did not get a chance to bat.

“Today I complete 15 years in international cricket after making my debut for India. What a journey it has been, definitely one that I will cherish for a lifetime.”

Expressing his gratitude to everyone who played a role in his rise as a cricketer, he said:

“I just want to thank everyone who has been a part of this journey and a special thanks to those who have helped me become the player I am today. To all cricket lovers, fans and critics, your love and support for the team It’s what gets us through these obstacles that we all inevitably face.

The 35-year-old is currently with the Indian team in Great Britain. He will lead the team in the newly scheduled Test against England in Birmingham as well as the white-ball matches that follow.

In his illustrious career, Rohit played 45 Tests, 230 ODIs and 125 T20Is, scoring a total of 15,733 international runs. He is the only batsman to score three double centuries in ODI cricket.
