Next Cricket World Cup – Hosts Australia will take on New Zealand in the opening match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Super 12 in a repeat of the 2021 Antipodean final.
The fixture list for the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia has been released, with the first round and the draw for the Super 12 teams also confirmed.

The tournament will take place from Sunday 18 October to Sunday 13 November, with 16 teams competing and seven host cities across Australia. Twelve of the 16 countries have already been confirmed, with the final four to be determined by global qualifying.

The Super 12 will get off to a great start with New Zealand facing defending champions Australia on Saturday 22 October in Sydney, a meeting between the two 2021 World Cup winners.
And the excitement of the opening weekend doesn’t stop there, as India and Pakistan face off on Sunday, October 23, in the most awaited match of the tournament on the second day of the Super 12 phase.
The Super 12 will run for two weeks, with two teams advancing to the finals on the weekend of November 5th and 6th.

Apart from the Australia vs New Zealand and Pakistan vs India matches in the opening weekend, a wide range of other matches stand out as important matches on the Super 12 stage.
There will be a replay of the 2021 semi-final between England and New Zealand when the two nations meet in an evening at the Gabba on Tuesday 1 November in the semi-final group stage.
And in the last afternoon of the Super 12 phase, Pakistan will face Bangladesh in Adelaide.
The tournament will begin with a six-day group stage to determine the final four teams to reach the Super 12.
World Cup To Begin Oct. 5, Ahmedabad Hosts Final
Sri Lanka and Namibia will join the two winners in Group A, with West Indies and Scotland joining the other two teams in Group B of the World Cup.
The first round will feature two daily titles, held on alternate days at Hobart’s Bellerive Oval and Geelong’s Cardinia Park, with all Group A games at the latter venue and all Group B games held in the Tasmanian city.
The winner of Group A and the runner-up of Group B will join Group 1 along with the winner of Group B and the runner-up of Group 2 from Group A in the Super 12 stage.
The Sydney Cricket Ground will host the semi-final on Wednesday 9 November, with the second final at Adelaide Oval the following day.

The final round of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 is scheduled for 19:00 local time at the 100,024-capacity Melbourne Cricket Ground.
There will be a total of seven venues in this tournament. Kardinia Park in Geelong will host six games, mainly in the first round of the first week, while Hobart’s Bellerive Oval will host a total of nine games, six in the first round and a further three over the first three days of the Super 12.

Pakistan will host a world tournament for the first time in three decades when the World Cup comes to its shores in 2025. In another first, the USA will host the world cricket competition – the T20 World Cup in June 2024 – alongside the West Indies. Both are part of eight new men’s tournaments to appear in the next ICC commercial cycle from 2024-31. There are two ODI World Cups, four T20 World Cups and two editions of the World Cup, which the ICC has decided to bring back. The host country is based on rates established earlier this year. He found that there were 28 proposals from 17 countries with 14 hosts.
The working group is chaired by former New Zealand footballer Martin Snedden, who is the chairman of the NZC and its representative on the ICC board. Former Indian captain and current BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, Cricket West Indies president Ricky Skarrit and former PCB chairman Ehsan Mani were also part of the task force. The Big Three – India, England and Australia – split most of the hosting rights between them. It has been seven years since the World Tournament was held anywhere other than these three countries. But with the exponential growth of T20 cricket, ICC wants to take the game global and this is reflected in this schedule. Starting with the 2024 T20 World Cup in the United States, many cricket tournaments will be played in non-human countries. Namibia will host Africa’s first men’s World Cup since 2003 alongside Zimbabwe and South Africa in 2027. And in 2030, Scotland and Ireland will face England in the T20 World Cup. What happened in Pakistan? This will be the first time the tournament will be played after it was abandoned in 2017. It is also a shot in the arm for the PCB which has worked very hard to bring back international cricket after the disruption caused by the terrorist attacks in 2009.
