Playoffs Ipl – The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday announced the venue and scheduled details for the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League playoffs and final. Mainly, Qualifier 1 and Eliminators scheduled for May 23 and May 24 will be held at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, while Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host Qualifier 2 (May 26) and the all-important final on May 28.
Notably, this is the second time in a row that the city of Ahmedabad is hosting the grand finale. In the 2022 edition of the competition, Gujarat Titans played the final against Rajasthan Royals where the hosts won by seven wickets. In 2023, they will get the chance to repeat the feat by becoming the third team in the history of the competition to win the trophy back-to-back years.

Looking at the ranking of all 10 teams based on playoff probability for IPL 2023, Gujarat Titans are expected to finish as the toppers.
IPL 2023 is now in its third week and the team is slowly getting into the groove with proper playing XI and team composition. Although we have seen only 3-4 games of each team so far, there is not a single team that has not lost a game so far.
Ipl 2023 Playoff Race Over, Gt Knock Rcb Out, Mi Seal Top 4 Spot, Csk In Qualifier 1
This is good news for fans as all teams are roughly balanced with their strengths and weaknesses with few hiccups. To overcome the weakness, the impact player rule in part allows the team to have a combination of 13 strong players, with a few more reserves used in each game when needed.
After looking at the best 15-16 player combinations of each team in the first 3-4 matches of IPL 2023, how do we analyze each team based on their team combination and rank all 10 teams based on their playoffs chances? Well, it may not be perfect, but certainly, a useful and unbiased analysis of a top 4 finish.
To find out the ranking of all 10 teams based on their playoff chances for IPL 2023, we find the cumulative rating of their 15 best players. Players are rated relative to their last three IPL and domestic/international forms. But the respective ratings are calculated based on benchmark players in their respective categories such as openers, pacers, spinners etc.

Importantly, 15 players are selected keeping in mind the best first choice 11 and an additional 4 reserves. Four players can have various combinations depending on the composition of the team. But generally, in their team we need at least 3 spinners, at least 5 pacers, at least 2 keepers and a total of 5 foreign players. That way we will be able to choose the best combination of 15 players for each team.

So, let’s see the ranking of all 10 teams for IPL 2023 based on playoff chances.
First choice playing XI for MI: Ishan Kishan [wk], Rohit Sharma [c], Cameron Green, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Verma, Tim David, Jofra Archer, Piyush Chawla, Kumar Karthikeya, Jason Behrendorff & Mohd. Arshad Khan. Additional Reserves: Riley Meredith, Hrithik Shokeen, Vishnu Vinod [Weekly] & Nehal Wadhera
At number 10, we have Mumbai Indians and if not the analysis, then the points table explains their performance. The team is full of youth with 6 players in the 15 man squad. What’s more, Mumbai Indians’ bowling is their weakest point, and unless they chase, MI will find it difficult to save the match.
First choice playing XI for KKR: Rahmanullah Gurbaz [wk], Venkatesh Iyer, Nitish Rana [c], Rinku Singh, N Jagadeesan, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Shardul Thakur, Lucky Ferguson, Umesh Yadav & Varun Chakraborty. Additional Reserves: Tim Southee, Suyash Sharma, Mandeep Singh & Anukul Roy
Ipl 2023 Playoffs Chances: Qualification Scenarios For All Teams
Like MI, Kolkata Knight Riders are loaded with youngsters including their captain Nitish Rana. Andre Russell remains their best player, but he does not bowl due to player impact rules and he comes to bat at 6 runs or less. Although KKR won both matches thanks to some amazing heroics, they were far from efficient compared to other teams. However, they have a strong bowling line-up which will help them stay afloat in the tournament.
Pick Starting XI for DC: David Warner [c], Prithvi Shah, Mitchell Marsh, Abhishek Porel [wk], Rovman Powell, Akshar Patel, Lalit Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Mukesh Kumar, Unrich Nortje & Khalil Ahmed. Additional Reserves: Mustafizur Rahman, Manish Pandey, Chetan Sakaria & Yash Dhul
Number 8 sees Delhi Capitals and the points table is a reflection of their performance. Rishabh Pant’s vacancy is too much for Delhi to fill in three departments, including captaincy. Although Delhi have a good bowling line-up, Prithvi Shah’s blunders with the middle order will be a concern for them.

First choice 11 Playing for PBKS: Shikhar Dhawan [c], Prabsimran Singh, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma [wk], Shah Rukh Khan, Rishi Dhawan, Sam Curran, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar & Arshdeep Singh. Additional reserves: Sikandar Raza, Harpreet Brar, Atharva Taide & Mohit Rathi
Ipl 2023 Playoffs: What Does A Tree On Bowling Timeline During Playoff Matches Signify?
At number 7, we have Punjab Kings, who have a strong team, but are lacking in two positions. The team is not very strong in the middle order and the reserves are not strong either. Still, their rating of 8,036 is not bad and it’s just a few matches going on. The return of Kagiso Rabada and Liam Livingstone should boost the team’s confidence in the upcoming matches.
Pick Starting XI for CSK: Devon Conway, Ruthuraj Gaikwad, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, Ben Stokes, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni [c&wk], Shivam Dubey, Deepak Chahar, M Theekshana & Tushar Deshpande. Additional Reserves: Ajinkya Rahane, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Subhranshu Senapathy & Dwayne Pretorius
It may surprise you to see Chennai Super Kings at 6, but to be honest, the bowling pace is a big disappointment for CSK. Deepak Chahar is their key bowler, and he is currently sidelined with an injury. Inexperienced pacers like Tushar, Hungergakar and Magala relied heavily. If CSK does not do well with their spinners at home, it will be difficult for them to enter the playoffs.
First choice playing XI for SRH: Harry Brook, Mayank Agarwal, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram [c], Heinrich Klaasen [wk], Abdul Samad, Washington Sundar, Marco Jansen, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan & Umran Malik. Additional Reserves: Abhishek Sharma, Glenn Phillips [wk], Mayank Markande & Karthik Tyagi
Ipl 2023: Playoffs Qualification Scenario For All Teams
Number 5 will see Sunrisers Hyderabad and they have a good squad including reserves. In fact, they are one of the two teams with good reserve players besides GT. However, what they lack is IPL experience. All their foreign players have played only a few seasons of IPL. So, even if they have the ability, it takes enough confidence to overcome the team.
First choice playing XI for LSG: KL Rahul [c], Quinton de Kock [wk], Deepak Hooda, Ayush Badoni, Nicholas Pooran, Marcus Stoinis, Krunal Pandya, Ravi Bishnoi, Mark Wood, Amit Mishra & Avesh Khan. Additional Reserves: Mohsin Khan, Krishnappa Gautham, Kyle Meyers & Manan Vohra
Lucknow Supergiants have 11 strong players in that position and the presence of impact players makes it even stronger. LSG has all the potential to finish in the top 4. They have some of the highest firepower in their batting and bowling. If KL Rahul recovers and Mohsin recovers quickly from his injury, they will be the team to beat in the tournament.

First choice playing 11 for RR: Jos Buttler, Yashaswi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson [c&wk], Devdutt Padikkal, Shimran Hetmyer, Ryan Parag, Jason Holder, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Kuldeep Sen & Yuzvendra Chahal. Additional Reserves: Obed McCoy, Murugan Ashwin, Sandeep Sharma &
