Mayank Agarwal Punjab Kings (PBKS) released their former captain Mayank Agarwal ahead of 2023 IPL auction. Agarwal is among the two players retained by PBKS ahead of the IPL 2022 auction (Rs 14 crore). He was bought by the franchise in the 2018 IPL auction and since then has been the most watched Indian batsman in their line-up. Kane Williamson New Zealand national cricket team captain Kane Williamson made his IPL debut in 2015 after signing with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). He led the team in the absence of David Warner in the 2018 edition and led them to a maiden runner-up position. He was also the season’s top scorer with 735 runs. He had an excellent IPL 2020 season as he scored a total of 353 runs in 14 matches and was the fourth highest six hitter. The positive for the four-time winners is that they have three wins despite a lengthy injury list. Notably, CSK skipper Dhoni is battling a knee injury, while their star bowler Deepak Chahar is also out indefinitely with a hamstring injury.

Also, Ben Stokes also missed the last few matches due to a toe injury. Recently there were reports that England’s red ball captain will miss the first half of the tournament. At a recent event, the CSK management gave a major update on Stokes’ injury and said the 31-year-old is fit and will play against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The news brought joy to CSK fans as Stokes’ availability will put an end to their bowling woes. “Ben is back in practice. He is fully fit and available for selection as well,” said the CSK official.

Although Stokes has regained full fitness from his toe injury, there are some doubts over his knee problem. Apart from Stokes, other bowlers of the Men in Yellow have been injured, such as Sisanda Magala and Simranjit Singh.
