In today’s match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) secured a stunning last 5-wicket victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS), thanks to the finishing skills of Rinku Singh.

Rinku’s powerful knock of 21 runs from 10 balls in the final helped KKR chase down a total of 180, with contributions from captain Nitish Rana’s half-century and Andre Russell’s powerful 42 from 23 deliveries. Only Nathan Ellis and Rahul Chahar were able to slow down KKR, with Chahar taking two wickets, including Nitish Rana after his 51 run.
In the first over, PBKS opted to bat first and scored 179 for seven on a slow pitch, with Shikhar Dhawan scoring another 50-plus innings of 57 off 47 balls. KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy took three wickets but conceded just 26 runs in his quota of four overs. With this victory, KKR won the fifth place in the points table.
After their last game against PBKS, KKR have reached the fifth position in the points table with 10 points. This result makes the race for the playoffs interesting because the five teams at the back of the table share the same number of points (10).
At the top of the points table, Gujarat Titans (GT) are leading with 16 points, while Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are second, trailing by three points in GT. The third place team, Lucknow Super Giants, has one point (11) above the other teams in the table.

KKR’s Rinku Singh has reached the 10th position in the list of East run scorers with 337 runs, while PBKS captain Shikhar Dhawan holds the ninth position with 349 runs. There is no other change in the list.
The Orange Cup, awarded in the most famous game of the tournament, is currently held by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Faf du Plessis, who conceded 511 runs in 10 matches. In second place the young Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal with 477 runs at an average of 160.60.
After his impressive spell of 3/26 against PBKS on Monday, KKR’s Varun Chakravarthy moved to fifth place in the list of wickets taken this season and 17 wickets in 11 overs. While Gujarat Titans (GT) Ohaid Shai currently holds the purple cup, taking 17 wickets this season.

Leg-spinner Rashid Khan and CSK paceman Tusher Deshpande have 17 wickets each, but their figures are higher than Shi’s.
