Indian Legends topped Sri Lanka Legends in the final of the World Road Safety Series 2021 on Sunday (March 2021) to win the title. Yuvraj Singh and Yusuf Pathan continued their brilliant form in the tournament and Sachin Tendulkar & Co. were the star contestants who rolled back the years with two quick strokes for .
In the first innings, the Indian Legends rode on 50s from Yuvraj and Yusuf to post 181/4 on the board in 20 overs. While Yuvraj hit 60 off 41 balls laced with four sixes and as many fours, Yusuf scored a quick 62 off just 36 balls with the help of 5 sixes and 4 fours. The duo came out all guns blazing against the Sri Lankan Legends bowling attack and entertained the fans with some cracking shots around the ground.
In reply, Sanath Jayasuriya (43) and Chinthaka Jayasinghe (40) top scored for the Sri Lankan Legends, but they could not bowl out their team for 182 runs as the Indian Legends managed to restrict them to 167/7 in 20 overs. setting up a comfortable win for the hosts.
Yuvraj took to Instagram to share a picture after his Indian Legends teammates won the title and congratulated the “youngsters”. “Well done guys!!! congrats #indianlegends,” Yuvraj captioned his Instagram post.

The Indian Legends’ only loss in the tournament came against the Kevin Pietersen-led England Legends. Captain Tendulkar, who scored 30 off 23 balls in the final, ended the tournament as the leading run-getter for his team with 233 runs from seven matches at 138.69. Virender Sehwag scored 214 runs in seven matches while Yuvraj finished with 194 runs in as many games.
Tillakaratne Dilshan was awarded Man of the Series for his all-round show in the tournament. The Sri Lanka Legends captain scored 271 runs and 12 wickets in 8 matches to help his team finish second.
