The first edition of the UAE ILT20 league is scheduled to be played next year in January. This means it will be up against the Australian Big Bash League and the Bangladesh Premier League. With their local stars signing up for the ILT 20, the BBL is already feeling the competition.

The ILT20 has a salary cap of $2.5 million per team. This means players could win $450,000 for just 12 games. This is in stark contrast to the BBL where the highest paid player cannot earn more than $238,000 per season. So far, only the IPL can match the ILT20 in terms of what is offered to the top players.

The organization already has a team in the IPL and CPL and has also invested heavily in the Premier Cricket League in the US. Their latest acquisition in ILT20 marks the group’s aim to expand its reach to every nook and corner of the world.
Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries has acquired a franchise in the UAE league, marking its first foreign investment in the cricket industry. As of now, the name of the team has not been announced yet.

Rajesh Sharma-led Capri Global has entered the sports industry by acquiring a franchise in the ILT20 league. Like the Glazers and Adanis, Capri Global has struggled to break into the world of franchise cricket. The previous year, Capri Global was among the top five contenders for an IPL team.
