The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule for the 16th T20 league on Friday (February 17). The tournament will begin on March 31, 2023 with a match between defending champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings. Meanwhile, the top competition will be held on May 28.
The first match will be followed by a double header the next day on April 1, with the first match of the day featuring Punjab Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders followed by Lucknow Supergiants vs Delhi Capitals. Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Rajasthan Royals in their first match of the season on April 2 and Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on Mumbai Indians in their first match of the season on the same day.
BCCI said in a statement: “The marquee 16th season will begin on March 31, 2023 with the blockbuster match between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the largest cricket stadium in the world.”
